"Your book has changed my perception and attitude towards statistics. It is very well written, the language is completely user friendly and the progression of new concepts within each chapter is fantastic. Although my class is only on chapter 5 at this point, I have found my interest in the concepts and order in which you introduce them becoming greater. I thank you with very much appreciation as I was someone who dreaded taking statistics and thought I hated it!" - Jessica Maes, graduate student

Review
"Excellent user-friendly resource. Only gets better edition after edition." (Dr. Roberto Torres)
“I am taking statistics at the graduate level for a Masters program, late in life I might add, and I hate statistics to the depth, breadth, and volume of all the oceans of all the earth combined. This text has helped me more than any other. Even more, I love brownies. And the recipe is fabulous. Thanks.” (Bruce Bailey 2011-09-01)

Ideal first book on statistics
By Jaewoo Kim
You want to know the difference between ANOVA and T-Test? How about Correlation and Regression? Have you used but wondered exactly what Standard Deviation was?
With perhaps the exception of Calculus, very few mathematical concepts are as useful as statistics. Yet, statistics is one of the most poorly explained concepts in all of mathematics. This book is the user-friendly version of basic to intermediate statistics. I highly recommend it to those who want to start learn statistics (or want a refresher).
The last time I used statistics was in college science courses (Chemistry and Physics) and I had all but forgotten the value and concept of statistics. Extremely well written and catering to the mathematically challenged, this book simplifies statistics for everyone. Even if you have used statistics for years, this book may provide insights into statistics you never had. For example, the book does an extremely good job of describing null vs research (alternative) hypothesis and one vs two tailed tests.
You will need Excel (preferably 2007) to solve the problems in this book since all the solutions assume you are using one. Excel makes calculation of statistics very easy, so easy this book leaves out many of the little steps in calculating statistics. Although it provides all the formulas and step-by-step calculations, most of the complex calculations are not detailed since Excel takes cares of them. The real genius of this book is simplifying the description, utility, significance, and application of each statistical concept.
I highly recommend purchasing a separate statistical workbook (Business Statistics by Schaum is good one) since the book does not provide a lot of problems and solutions. This book, however, is an ideal first book on statistics.

This is the best statistics book out there!
By F. Trembath
This book explains statistics in simple language so that anyone can understand. This is not the case for most stats books! I have taken several 500 and 600 level statistics courses, and I still go back to this book occasionally to review something or read how to explain it to someone else. I recommend this book to everyone I know taking statistics

Best stats book I've read or own
By Amazon Customer
I have eight stats books in my bookshelf, from Dummy's Guides to college textbooks. Salkind's text presented the material, seemingly directed toward graduate students, in the most clear and easy to understand manner of all I've read. It was actually enjoyable to read. I don't think you'll be disappointed with this one.
