Intelligent, Imaginative, and Creepy!

I loved Matthew's first book, A Monstrous Place, and this one did not disappoint! I thought it was very Ray-Bradbury-esque in its creepiness and imagination. I couldn't put it down. I'm a huge fan of intelligent middle-grade fiction, and this book is right up there with my favorites. Can't wait for more from this talented author!

Interesting and entertaining

Although this has some scary parts, it also has some life lessons. I read a monstrous place by this author, and found his style most interesting. Not for very young children, but a 9 or 10 year old could enjoy. I will look for more from this author. He could give R.L. Stein some competition.

It is very much worth reading.

A lonely boy finds a friend in that world between being awake and asleep. That is basically what happens. No spoilers.
This story is definitely worth a read, a real page turner, you'll want to know what happens next.
It's been sitting there, waiting for me to read for a while and I am glad I finally did.
